When you discover that you have a talent that most people don’t, it can be a bit overwhelming at first. Those first few years of learning to play an instrument can be incredibly stressful but at the same time very rewarding.
Developing an instrument from scratch is certainly not an easy task. It takes time, commitment, and lots of constant failures. For HUTCH, learning to play the drums, record and produce was just another way of life.
Hailee, also known as HUTCH, began playing drums at age 7. She describes her mother watching her on drums instantly knowing that HUTCH would be a musician when she grew up. HUTCH is also a snowboarder, music producer, and rock music fan, with a large fan base on Instagram.
From high school, Hailee started using HUTCH, because people told her she didn’t look like a ‘Hailee’. Since then, HUTCH has been creating beats and turning up the drums. He has played with School of Rock for several years, has performed many concerts with popular artists and bands such as LA Salami, Royal Bliss, Earl Slick and several more.
Despite the pandemic, HUTCH’s followers continued to grow and expand on social media. Whether he’s sharing a new drop with LA Salami or a recent photoshoot, it’s clear that HUTCH is living his life to the fullest and nothing will stand in his way.
True musicians understand that the role of the drummer is perhaps the most important responsibility of the band. HUTCH’s mission is to bring respectable value back to the name ‘drummer’, and he’s doing it in his own way.
When asked if he could change anything in the music industry, HUTCH responded by saying, “I wish people would pay more attention and credit to drummers.”
Not only does HUTCH want to draw attention to drummers around the world, but its hard-hitting, funky genre and smooth drumming capabilities are bringing back one of the most important elements of drums: passion.
HUTCH remembers listening to Michael Jackson and other artists during the ’80s and’ 90s while growing up. She attributes many of her musical successes to her father for giving her that musical inspiration at a young age.
After a few years of playing numerous concerts and also completing two summer programs at Berklee College of Music in Boston, HUTCH has launched its own website: JustHutch.com.
It is clear that HUTCH is well on its way to success and notoriety, yet it is doing it in its humble way. His sincerity, honesty and commitments are reflected in the presence he has on social media. Unlike other accounts with a large following, HUTCH truly cares about its growing fan base and regularly responds to and engages with people who support its musical journey. That’s really what it’s all about and talented musicians like HUTCH have figured it out.
With new music on the way, be sure to keep up with the HUTCH journey; I promise it’s going to be one worth seeing.
